I never knew I made such a scary Halloween costume

There are jokes, and then there are JOKES.

My daughter pulled a good one on me yesterday by dressing up in the scariest Halloween costume I’ve ever seen – she dressed up as me!

The scariest costume I can imagine was . . . me. Ahhhhhhh!! Hide the kids!!

The scariest costume I can imagine was . . . me. Ahhhhhhh!! Hide the kids!!

I should have known something was up when the kids kept asking me all week to get a fresh haircut on Thursday morning. When I asked why, my son told me it was so that I could be part of a Halloween costume.

Uh?

I was confused, but that’s pretty much the way I operate every day, so everything was as normal as it gets around our house.

So on my way to work that morning, I stopped and got a fresh haircut (the kids knew I would like that because swimming very soon after a close haircut is one of my favoriteist things).

By the time I got home from work (after a grocery stop), I made it home and was pretty tired with a busy night ahead.

Then the door opened with perhaps the scariest sight I’ve ever seen – my daughter looking more like me than me. She had gotten the thing to wear on her head to look bald, had put on a long pair of shorts, and a Nashville sweatshirt. She even had on a pair of sandals – no detail was too small.

It was, to say the least, very funny. A laugh I badly needed yesterday. halloween 2

The only drawback is that I never knew I looked so scary. . .

Ha! You know what’s really a humbling experience? To find out that someone else looks better as yourself than you do!

My brother has that problem with his daughter, too. What’s becoming of today’s kids, anyway! 😀

Ha! I don’t know. I need to work on taking some things more seriously 🙂
