My son, guest blogger – the story of my dad’s Lawn Mowing Adventure

Today my son fills in as my guest blogger. His story today: how everything went wrong one hot summer day as I tried to mow the lawn.

My son celebrates finishing his most recent blog post (well, he celebrated something, anyway).

My son celebrates finishing his most recent blog post (well, he might not have been celebrating THAT, but he was definitely happy about something).

So my dad was going to mow the lawn, and he has about four bags of pine cones in the front yard. So he has to pick them up.

Then, when he tries to mow the lawn, the lawn mower won’t start. So then, guess what he does? He puts his lawn mower in the truck to take it to get it fixed. Then he tries to start the truck, but the truck’s not working. So he has this little bit of gas in the gas tank. He’s about to put that in the truck, but when he goes to put the gas in the truck, there’s a wasp nest.

But I didn’t know what he was doing. So I opened the blinds, to see what he was doing, I saw that he was running like crazy, so I let him in.

My dad got the wasp spray, and sprayed the wasp nest. Then he poured the gas into the gas tank. Then he can drive to the gas station and fill up the truck. Then he took the lawn mower to the store, and they were able to start it with no problem.

Series of problems – glad it turned out okay.
I think it probably looked funny to see you running from the wasps.

Great story! Great idea to have the son tell it from his own viewpoint. Poor Dad!

Thanks Katherine. I actually wanted him to write about a different experience, but this is what he chose. So I let him go with it. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

This is so funny! And there’s even a moment of suspense there! It’s a new thing for me read from a young lad. How young is your son?

What a fun and heartwarming story—lawn mowing really does come with its own set of adventures! It’s great to hear about the little lessons and unexpected moments that come with the task. Sometimes, it makes you appreciate the effort it takes to mow the lawns and keep things looking nice. Whether it’s a family tradition or just a chore, it’s always nice to find the humor in it!
